Hi folks. I hope all of you are doing well. See, I'm doing a translation of a story. it's a detectives story that has loads of slang from the forties. Well, there is a phrase I don't understand and I was wondering if someone could give me a hand. The following is the phrase: "Yeah. Now do you see the set-up? Sanston must have nursed a grudge against Arkle all these years. To get even he played mound with Kitty Calvert, Arkle’s wife." That was the phrase. Now, the part I don't get is where it says, "he played mound with kitti calvert". I don't get that. What does it mean to play mound with someone? does it mean to have sex with someone, or what? I don't get it. Thanks guys in advance. Help is really needed and greatly appreciated. Y'all take care, Joaquín

I think so, but I would need to see more of the context. With just those 2 sentences, it is hard to telll.
